Have you been begging God for a way around something — and the way around hasn't come?
Most of us pray for the sea to drain. Out of the diagnosis, out of the grief, out of the season that won't end. And some of us have quietly decided the deep water is our fault.
This week's arc moves from the phone call that drops the floor out, through questions with no answers and water you didn't wander into, to a morning where the ground beneath you was dry the whole way.
Not around. Through.
DRY GROUND is available now. He doesn't drain the sea. He splits it.
POSITION 1 — THE CALL
Every arc that ends on dry ground has to start in the water — and for most of us, the water arrives with one phone call. This song starts on an ordinary night with news that takes the last thing he had to lose, and it's honest about the old way he used to cope. Then it makes the choice the whole week depends on: even if he loses it all, he's running to Jesus. Before you can trust Him in the deep, you have to decide which way you'll run.
POSITION 2 — THE QUESTION
After the call come the questions — and this song is brave enough to list everything it doesn't know. Why bad things happen. Why hearts break. How it all works out. Then it plants its feet on the one thing it does know: you're loved, and the cross is the proof. You can not know why and still know Who.
POSITION 3 — THE DEEP
This is the song the whole theme is named from. It says the hardest thing in the arc — that God is the One who brought them into the sea and told them to step into the fear. They'd love a way around, but He makes dry ground through the waters instead. And the prayer changes from "get me out" to "anchor me."
POSITION 4 — THE FOOTHOLD
Some days the anchor feels a million miles away. This song is honest about those days — lost again, disconnected, doubt everywhere, feeling like you're falling. And then the chorus turns it: He never lets you slip, and the past you keep replaying is already paid for. It was never your grip. It's His.
POSITION 5 — THE MORNING
Israel crossed the sea in the dark and saw the dry ground at daybreak. This is the daybreak song — waking up to new mercy, fire still burning in the pouring rain, eyes finally opened. Not a song about the storm disappearing. A song about seeing what He was doing all night.
Every Monday at 7:00 AM EST, a new theme drops. Five songs. One theme. One encounter with God. But it's not random. It's not just 'here are five worship songs I like this week.' The JDOT Five is an intentional arc — a journey that moves you from one place to another with Jesus. And it meets you in the music you already love.
