Opening Story: My Posture 24/7
There's a difference between SAYING "it'll be alright" and actually BELIEVING it.
Between declaring peace and LIVING in peace.
Between claiming trust and RESTING in trust.
Jaye King's "It'll Be Alright" is my posture. 24/7. Not because everything IS alright. Because I KNOW it WILL BE.
Not wishful thinking. Not denial. PROVEN faithfulness.
God has shown up too many times for me to doubt Him now. He's come through in too many impossible situations for me to lose sleep over this one.
So I put it all in His hands. And I have peace. And even JOY. In the valley.
"Under pressure I'm not crushed / It don't make sense / I'm not tense anymore"—this is my REALITY right now.
PPA progressing. Health declining. God asking for more when I have less. Under PRESSURE.
But not crushed. Not tense. Because I have peace that doesn't make sense.
The kind He SAID I wouldn't understand. And I don't. But I HAVE it.
"I think it's peace / The kind He said that I won't understand / 'Cause I don't, that's for sure"—Philippians 4:7 LIVED OUT.
Peace that transcends understanding. Not peace BECAUSE you understand. Peace DESPITE not understanding.
And when you have THAT kind of peace? It changes everything.
Essence of My Experience
"It's all new / Changing my attitude / Living with gratitude / Wait and see what He'll do / He'll move"—this is the SHIFT.
From anxiety to anticipation. From fear to faith. From "what if it doesn't work out?" to "WAIT AND SEE what He'll do."
Because He'll MOVE. He always does.
"It's okay / It's gonna be alright / He comes through every time"—this isn't hope. This is HISTORY.
Every time I've needed Him? He's come through.
Every impossible situation? He's made a way.
Every valley I thought would destroy me? He's walked me through.
So when the NEXT trial comes? I already know: It'll be alright. Because He comes through EVERY TIME.
"Ain't losing sleep tonight"—this is PEACE manifested.
I'm not up at night worrying. Not tossing and turning with anxiety. Not lying awake trying to figure it all out.
Because I put it in HIS hands. And His hands don't drop things.
"I'm not down and out / Without a doubt / I can trust Him with my life"—not "I SHOULD trust Him." Not "I'm TRYING to trust Him."
WITHOUT A DOUBT. I CAN trust Him.
Not blind faith. PROVEN faithfulness.
He's earned my trust. Over and over. So I give Him my life. Without hesitation.
"Ain't life good / His plans go exactly how they should"—even when I don't understand them. Even when they don't look like MY plans.
His plans go exactly how they SHOULD.
Not how I WANT. How they SHOULD.
And the more I walk with Him, the more I see: His way is ALWAYS better than mine.
"When I let go He's in control"—this is the KEY.
Not "when I TRY to let go." Not "when I WANT to let go."
WHEN I LET GO. Fully. Completely. He's in control.
And when HE'S in control? It's gonna be alright.
"By and by / When the morning comes / All the saints of God will gather home / We'll tell the story / How He overcomes"—this is ETERNAL perspective.
Right now? In the valley. In the pressure. In the not-yet.
But by and by? Morning's coming. And we'll tell the STORY.
Not just "He helped us." He OVERCOMES.
Past, present, future. He's ALWAYS overcome. And He ALWAYS will.
🎯 The Real Truth: Where Theology Meets Real Life
Peace Under Pressure Is Supernatural
"Under pressure I'm not crushed"—this isn't natural. This is supernatural.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 declares: "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
"Hard pressed... but NOT crushed."
The pressure is REAL. The crushing is PREVENTED.
Not because the pressure decreased. Because His presence SUSTAINS.
I'm under pressure. PPA. Decline. "I want more from you."
But I'm not crushed. Because He's holding me UP.
Peace That Transcends Understanding Is Real
"I think it's peace / The kind He said that I won't understand"—this is Philippians 4:6-7 in action.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
"Peace... which TRANSCENDS all understanding."
Not peace BECAUSE you understand. Not peace AFTER you figure it out.
Peace WHILE you don't understand. Peace THAT transcends understanding.
I don't understand why God's asking for more when I'm declining.
But I have peace anyway. Because His peace doesn't require my comprehension.
He Comes Through Every Time—That's Not Hope, That's History
"He comes through every time"—this isn't wishful thinking. This is TRACK RECORD.
Lamentations 3:22-23 promises: "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
"His compassions NEVER fail."
Not "rarely fail." Not "usually don't fail." NEVER fail.
Which means: Every time you've needed Him? He's shown up. Every. Single. Time.
May 13, 2021? He came through. PPA diagnosis? He came through. Every wilderness since? He came through.
So this trial? He'll come through. AGAIN.
That's not hope. That's HISTORY repeating.
Letting Go = He Takes Control
"When I let go He's in control"—this is the EXCHANGE.
Your control for His. Your plans for His. Your grip for His.
Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
"Lean NOT on your own understanding."
Let go of YOUR understanding. Submit to HIM. And He'll make the path straight.
Not easier. Straight. Direct. Purposeful.
I don't understand the path He's leading me on.
But I let go. And He's in control. And it's gonna be alright.
Eternal Perspective Changes Present Pressure
"By and by / When the morning comes"—this is Romans 8:18 perspective.
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
"NOT WORTH comparing."
The pressure? Real. The suffering? Real.
But NOT WORTH COMPARING to what's coming.
Morning's coming. We'll gather home. We'll tell the story.
And THIS valley? Will be part of the testimony of how He overcomes.
Reflection Questions
- "Under pressure I'm not crushed"—are you under pressure right now? Are you CRUSHED or just PRESSED? What's the difference? And what does that tell you about God's sustaining presence?
- "The kind of peace I won't understand"—do you have peace that transcends understanding? Or are you waiting to UNDERSTAND before you have peace? What would it look like to have peace WHILE not understanding?
- "He comes through every time"—when has He come through for YOU? Can you list times He's shown up? And if He's come through every time BEFORE, why doubt He'll come through NOW?
- "Ain't losing sleep tonight"—are you? Losing sleep? Tossing and turning? Lying awake trying to figure it out? What would it take to put it in HIS hands and actually REST?
- "When I let go He's in control"—what are you still gripping? What control are you refusing to release? What would happen if you ACTUALLY let go?
