A WORD FROM JDOT: NOBODY BUT GOD
I've built a few rooms in my life without meaning to.
The biggest one, if I'm honest, is the one where my worth gets measured against how much I can personally produce for this ministry. I didn't set out to build that room. It went up slowly — every week I hit a deadline, every piece of content that landed, every time I proved to myself I could still do this despite the diagnosis. Brick by brick, without noticing, until "producing enough" quietly became the wall keeping me standing.
Renegade named that room for me before I would've named it myself — something self-built, still holding, still mine. Fall Apart is the position I resist hardest, if I'm honest. Letting the collapse be messy instead of managed doesn't come naturally to a former teacher who spent years being the composed one in the room. But God is the position I keep having to relearn, over and over, because the sentence I'm tempted to finish on my own — the one where my effort explains the outcome — keeps needing interrupting. Christ In Me is still teaching me the difference between waiting to feel like my old voice again and noticing Whose voice is actually carrying this ministry now. And Jesus Be The Name is where I keep landing, every time — not because I've got new words, but because that name is the only one that's covered every single week of this since May 13, 2021.
I'm not writing this from outside the room. I'm writing it from someone still practicing the interruption, weekly, sometimes daily.
Thank you for walking NOBODY BUT GOD with me this week. Thank you for naming your own room, wherever you named it. You didn't build your way into freedom, and neither did I.
Not by my strength. Nobody but God.
