Here's the last check-in before we close out CHANCE AFTER CHANCE.
Where This Challenge Has Been
On Monday, you named the rung you'd been climbing to earn God's love. On Thursday, you tore up the list you kept replaying. Today's touch completes the shape of the week.
Name it. Tear it up. Now count the chances.
Touch Three: Count the Chances
Grab a piece of paper and write down five chances God has given you that you never earned. Be specific.
Some places to look:
- A time He let you start over when you'd run out of reasons to deserve it.
- A person He put in your path at exactly the right moment.
- A door He closed that turned out to be protection.
- A night you shouldn't have made it through.
- A morning you woke up and, somehow, wanted to try again.
Then thank Him for each one, out loud, by name.
Finally, pick one and tell somebody about it this weekend.
Why Count?
For most of this week, the arc has been about the list you kept: the scorecard of failures, the rungs you missed, the thing you kept replaying. God never kept that list.
But there's another list worth keeping. Psalm 103:2 tells us to "forget not all his benefits." The finale song sings it as chance after chance, after chance. The scorecard you kept counted your failures. This list counts His grace.
Tell the Truth About Where You Landed
If you wrote your five, that's worth celebrating — and if you're willing, share one in the comments. If you got stuck at two or three, that's honest too. Keep the paper. You'll think of more.
