What if the Jesus you've been living with isn't the one you'd find if you actually met Him?
Not an accusation. An honest question.
Most of us didn't choose our first image of Jesus. It was handed to us — by a church, a parent, a rule, a fear. And somewhere along the way, the performance that came with it stopped working. The worship started feeling empty. The prayers wouldn't form. And we were too tired to pretend anymore.
THE JESUS I KNOW NOW dropped this morning.
Five songs. One arc. For the one who suspects the Jesus they've been handed might be smaller than the one who's actually out there.
The journey moves like this:
THE HAND-ME-DOWN — Before you can meet the real Jesus, you have to name the one you inherited. Not in judgment — in honesty. The Jesus in the box might be too small.
THE UNRAVELING — Something cracks. The performance stops working. The words won't come. This is the moment you stop pretending — and become available for something real.
THE MEETING — You keep calling. Even when you can't feel anything. And He answers. Because He's the same God who showed up for all of them — and He shows up now.
THE UNLEARNING — You've met Him. Now comes the slow, beautiful work of letting the old image go. Learning He likes you. Learning who you are isn't what you've done.
THE OVERFLOW — And then you can't stop. Not because you're supposed to. Because you've actually met someone worth talking about.
This week's memory verse is John 15:15: "I no longer call you servants... Instead, I have called you friends."
Not rule-follower. Not performance-based servant.
Friend.
