Fully Known and Still Wanted

Fully Known and Still Wanted

You've cried in front of Him. You've called His name. You've even found a hallelujah in the valley.

But there's still a part of you holding back.

The Last Hiding Place

It's the part you don't say out loud — the things you've done, the things you keep doing. And underneath it is a misconception most people never name: the belief that if He really knew all of it, He'd stop running toward you and start keeping His distance. That being fully known and being pushed away are the same thing.

So that part stays out of sight. Even from Him. Especially from Him.

The Woman Who Was Told Everything

"Come Meet the Man" is sung from the perspective of the woman at the well in John 4. She came to draw water in the heat of the day, when no one else would be there. Jesus asked her for a drink, offered her living water, and then gently named the part of her life she would never have brought up herself.

He didn't name it to shame her. He named it so she'd know He already knew — and was still sitting there.

"Come meet the man who told me all I'd ever done. He knew who I was, who I am and all I would become."

Come Out of Hiding

The song turns that encounter into an invitation for anyone still hiding: "So come all you weary, drowning in depths of mistakes... Come out of hiding, come show the Savior your face. He wants to see you, to know you, to wrap you up in His grace."

Notice the order. See you. Know you. Wrap you up in grace. Being known isn't the obstacle to grace. It's the way in.

And look at what the woman did next. John 4:29: "Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did." The very thing she'd been hiding became the first line of her testimony.

Your hiding was never keeping Him away. It was only keeping you from finding out He'd stay. Fully known — and still wanted. Not just tolerated. Wanted.

This is Chapter Four of I KNOW SOMEBODY. Catch up on the first three chapters, and don't miss tomorrow's finale.
