A note before this: this reflection is personal, and it's meant to be — this is the one slot in the week where first-person testimony belongs.
Position 5 drops today — THE DEVOTION, the finale. Before it goes up, I want to tell you where this theme actually comes from for me.
What May 13, 2021 Actually Gave Me
May 13, 2021, Jesus sent me back. I didn't get handed a better version of who I already was. The man who came back wasn't a repaired version of the man who left — he was new.
A Choice, Not a Feeling
I've spent every day since figuring out what that actually means, because it turns out being made new isn't a feeling that shows up once and stays. It's a choice I have to keep making — same as Position 2 talked about this week. Some days I understood exactly what He was doing. Some days I didn't, and I wanted to quit anyway.
Why I Kept Going
I kept choosing to stay buried instead of digging the old man back up, because that's the only way any of this is real. That's what NEW MAN has been about all week — not becoming a better version of who you were, but actually letting the old one go.
