This week's JDOT Five is for the one who's tired.
Not tired of God. Not tired of faith. Just — tired.
Tired of trying so hard. Tired of white-knuckling every decision, every relationship, every next step. Tired of ending up on their knees again saying the same thing they always say: I'll do better. I'll try harder. I swear I'm trying.
HANDS FREE.
Stop white-knuckling a wheel that was never yours to hold.
Five positions. Five songs. One arc that goes from the exhaustion of driving your own life — to the uncontainable gratitude of someone who finally let go.
THE WHITE-KNUCKLE LIFE → THE FOURTH IN THE FIRE → WHERE TROPHIES FALL → HANDS FREE → OVERWHELMED AND OPEN
Here's what I've learned: the problem was never that I was driving badly. The problem was that I was driving at all. Gripping a wheel that was never mine to hold. Navigating roads I was never meant to navigate alone.
This week — we let go.
This week's memory verse is Isaiah 30:21: "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"
He knows the road. He's already on it. He's been trying to drive the whole time.
Five songs. One journey. Press play — and then tell me: what are you white-knuckling right now?
