This song is honest about something the others don't dwell on: sometimes you've already confessed. You've already surrendered, more than once. And you're still standing back at the same starting line, having the same conversation with God about the same thing.
That's not proof surrender didn't work. It's proof there's a difference between surrendering a feeling and making a choice. Feelings of surrender come and go. A choice is a line you decide not to cross again, regardless of what you feel like in the moment you're tempted to.
"I don't wanna live like this no more. I just wanna live like I am yours." That's not a hopeful wish. It's a decision being spoken into a moment where the old cycle is still live and pulling.
If you've been here before — confessed before, surrendered before, and ended up back at the same place — that's not disqualifying. It might just mean this is the week the choice actually gets made, instead of just felt.
