Yesterday's finale closed out the arc. Today, let's sit with the verse underneath all five days: Galatians 2:20.
A Death, Not an Improvement
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." Paul isn't describing self-improvement here. He's describing a death.
Correcting a Quiet Misconception
We tend to read our own transformation as addition — God adding good qualities on top of who we already were. Paul describes it as subtraction first. Something has to actually die before something new can live.
Not a Loss to Grieve
That's not a loss to grieve. It's the only way new life was ever going to be possible. The old man was never salvageable — he wasn't meant to be. He was meant to be crucified, so that what's living now is actually Christ in you, not an improved version of the old you wearing a better outfit.
What part of you have you been trying to improve, that God's actually asking you to bury?
