Yesterday's finale closed out the arc. Today, let's sit with the verse that's been underneath all five days: Lamentations 3:22-23.
The Claim Jeremiah Actually Makes
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." It's worth noticing this isn't written from a place of ease. Lamentations is, as the name suggests, a book of grief — this claim about grace being new every morning is made from inside real loss, not from a comfortable distance.
Correcting a Quiet Misconception
Here's a misconception worth naming plainly: treating your repeated need for grace as evidence it's running thin — as if there's a finite supply, and needing it again and again this many times has to mean it's almost used up.
The Word the Verse Actually Uses
"They are new every morning." Not "still technically available if you look hard enough." New. As new the hundredth morning as the first. The verse doesn't hedge on that, and it doesn't measure the newness against how many mornings came before it needing the exact same compassion.
Sit With This
What repeat in your life have you been quietly reading as proof grace is finally running out, that's actually proof it's never once failed to be new?
