Here's something worth sitting with this week: nothing on the long way was wasted.
Not the years. Not the wrong turns. Not the distance you put between yourself and home.
It's tempting to treat the detour as the part of the story you have to explain away — the years you'd rather skip past to get to the part where everything's fixed. But Luke 15:20 doesn't describe a father who erases the story of the far country. He runs to meet his son while he's still on the road, still covered in it.
The road isn't hidden from the homecoming. It's folded into it.
That's the heart of STILL BEING MADE — Position 4 in this week's arc. The years you spent taking the long way aren't discarded once you're home. They become material. Part of what shapes you into who you're meant to be next.
You don't have to pretend the long way didn't happen to believe it's leading somewhere better.
