What would change if you actually believed He liked you?
Not tolerated. Not conditionally approved. Actually liked.
That's THE UNLEARNING — Position 4 of THE JESUS I KNOW NOW. And it's one of the hardest positions in the arc to receive, not because it's complicated, but because it dismantles something most of us have been building our entire faith lives.
Performance-based identity dies slowly. The idea that God is tracking your record — that His opinion of you rises and falls with your obedience — is deeply embedded in how a lot of us were handed Jesus. And even after the encounter, even after meeting the real one, that old operating system keeps running.
"I am who You say I am."
Hillsong UNITED sings it with the energy of arrival. But listen to what's underneath it — "I am chosen, not forsaken." You don't sing "not forsaken" unless part of you has believed you were. The declaration is doing real work. It's not celebrating something that already feels solid. It's reaching toward something that's still settling.
"Free at last. He has ransomed me. His grace runs deep."
Grace runs deep — which means it has to go somewhere you haven't let it yet. The grace of the real Jesus isn't surface-level. It gets into the places where you've been hiding the performance. Where you've been earning. Where you've been afraid to let anyone — including God — see what's underneath.
You are who He says you are. Not what you've done. Not what you've failed at. Not what religion handed you.
Who He says.
What would change if you actually let that land?
