"Roots" — Jamie MacDonald
"My roots are not in this world."
Once you've seen the turn — once you know instead of just knowing about — something in you stops gripping so hard. That's Position 4: ROOTED.
This song doesn't promise the storm won't come. It promises you'll still be standing when it does — not because you held on tighter, but because you were planted by a hand that isn't yours. "Come hell or high water, I'm held by the Father." Trees don't survive by fighting the wind. They survive because of what's underneath them, where nobody can see, going down further than the wind can reach.
You didn't dig your own roots that deep. He did. Which is why the drought doesn't threaten you the way it used to.
