Say His Name Over the Part You've Hidden

Say His Name Over the Part You've Hidden

Midweek check-in: how's the Say His Name challenge going?

On Monday, the first touch was to say His name out loud in the middle of whatever you've been holding together. Today's touch goes somewhere harder.

Touch Two: Say It Over the Hidden

Think about the part you've kept out of sight. The thing you don't say out loud — something you've done, something you keep doing, something you'd rather He didn't bring up. Most people have one. Most people have kept it hidden even from God. Especially from God.

You don't have to tell anyone else what it is. This touch is between you and Him. But today, alone, say His name over it out loud. And then say four more words: "You already knew."

Why "You Already Knew"

Because He did. Today's chapter is about the woman at the well in John 4 — the woman Jesus told everything she'd ever done. He didn't bring it up to push her away. He brought it up so she'd know He already knew, and was still sitting there with her.

Saying His name over the hidden part isn't confessing something that's news to Him. It's letting go of the belief that hiding it was keeping Him close. It never was. It was only keeping you from finding out He'd stay.

If You're Not Ready Yet

That's honest, and honest is the point. Some hidden things take longer to bring into the light than others. If you're not there today, you can still say His name — and ask Him to help you get there.
