That's Me -- Position 5: New Identity

That's Me -- Position 5: New Identity

NEW IDENTITY — "That's Me"

"You meet me, right where I am. You know me, and understand."

This is the line the whole arc has been building toward. Not "You'll meet me once I've cleaned up." Not "You'll know me once the gap is closed." Right where you are — fully known, no editing required — and still met.

The song doesn't pretend the mess is gone. "I'm messy, but I am loved. I'm broken, but I'm enough." Both halves stay true at the same time. The mess doesn't get resolved before the love arrives. The love was already there, underneath the mess the whole time, waiting for the moment you'd stop hiding it.

That's the difference between an identity you perform and one you're actually given. A performed identity has to keep proving itself, one convincing moment at a time. A given identity — heir, child of a king — doesn't need the performance anymore, because it was never built on one.

You don't have to wait to be fully known before you can be fully loved. Position 5 is proof those two things were never in competition.
