THE EXPOSED HEART Song 2. THE HONEST CRY

THE EXPOSED HEART Song 2. THE HONEST CRY

Questions |  Samantha Ebert

The performance has to crack before God can get underneath it.

That's what Position 2 is about. Not a crisis. Not a dramatic moment. Just — the quiet, uncomfortable admission that you've been holding questions you haven't known how to say out loud.

Samantha Ebert doesn't dress it up. "I know that Your grace is sufficient but I can't help but wish things were different." That line is the performance cracking in real time. The person who has been saying all the right things finally saying the real one.

"If You don't withhold good from Your children — then why's it so bad right now?"

Most people swallow that question. They call it doubt. They call it weak faith. They perform their way past it and keep moving.

But it doesn't go away.

And God doesn't want it to go away unexpressed. He wants it brought to Him — because the honest cry is the first moment in the arc where something real is happening. The performance stops. The real conversation starts.

"Would You hear me out for a second while I'm wrestling with the hard to answer questions?"

He will. He always will.

That's the honest cry. That's Position 2. And it's the doorway to everything that comes next.
