The challenge centers on one object: the mask — whatever version of yourself you let people see instead of the true one. Not a metaphor you have to overthink. Just the specific gap between what you're showing and what's actually true, the same gap Coming Clean names.

Not "I should be more honest" in general. One specific thing the mask has been covering — the thing you'd have to explain if someone saw all the way past it.
