Every week on The JDOT Five comes with a challenge — something small, specific, and doable, meant to take the week's arc out of the realm of "nice idea" and into something you actually practice.
This Week: Trace It Back
This week's challenge is simple to name and harder to actually do: pick one specific storm from your past — a real one, not a vague "hard season" — and spend this week tracing back through it. Not to relive the pain of it. To find Him in it.
Why Specificity Matters
It's easy to say, in general, "God's always been faithful." It's a different thing entirely to sit with one actual storm and ask: where, specifically, was He? What moment, what person, what timing, what provision — can you actually point to and say, that was Him?
That specificity is the whole point. A vague belief that God is generally present doesn't change much about how you carry your next storm. A specific, traced-out memory of exactly where He showed up in your last one does.
How to Start
Pick one storm. It doesn't need to be resolved yet — you don't need a tidy ending to start tracing. You just need to be honest enough to name one. This week, we'll be checking in on this challenge twice more — once midweek, and once as we close out the theme on Saturday. Wherever you land by the end of the week, that's exactly where this challenge is supposed to take you.
