Proverbs 3:5-6 is this week's memory verse, and it's worth slowing all the way down on:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Look at the order. It doesn't say "trust the Lord after you've fully figured things out." It says trust with all your heart, and then lean not on your own understanding. The trusting comes first. The leaning-elsewhere is what trusting actually looks like in practice — not a feeling you wait to arrive, but a decision to stop leaning on the thing that was never strong enough to hold you.
And the promise isn't "you'll finally understand everything." It's "he will make your paths straight." Not you, engineering a straight path through careful planning and clear understanding. Him, making it straight — on His timeline, by His hand, often in ways you couldn't have engineered even if your understanding had been flawless.
This is the whole arc of LEAN NOT compressed into one verse. The menace to your own understanding, off the throne, buried and reborn, following instead of steering, and finally lifted high — all of it is just this verse, lived out one position at a time.
