Grace isn't free.
That's the thing FOUND BY GRACE doesn't let you skip past. The finding is real. The joy is real. The shame being wiped away is real.
But none of it happened without a cost.
Hillsong United's "Scandal of Grace" is the most theologically heavy song in this arc — and it belongs exactly where it lands. Position 3. After the finding. Before the witness.
Because you can't fully carry the story until you've sat with what it cost.
"Grace, what have You done — murdered for me on that cross. Accused in absence of wrong — my sin washed away in Your blood."
Accused in absence of wrong.
That's the scandal. That the One who had done nothing had to take the place of the one who had done everything. That the exchange was that lopsided. That grace like this required that kind of death.
"The scandal of grace — You died in my place, so my soul will live."
So my soul will live.
Not so I'd feel better. Not so I'd have a story to tell. So my soul would live.
That's Position 3. That's THE COST.
And standing here — in the full weight of what this grace required — the only possible response is the one Hillsong lands on.
"Oh to be like You. Give all I have just to know You."
Surrender. Not reluctant. Not calculated. Just — of course.
