What is The JDOT Five?

Every Friday at 7 AM, a new playlist drops.

Five songs. One theme. One encounter with God.

But it's not random. It's not just "here are five worship songs I like this week."

The JDOT Five is an intentional arc — a journey that moves you from one place to another with Jesus.

And it meets you in the music you already love.

Music That Meets You Where You Are

Here's the thing about The JDOT Five:

At worst, you get to listen to five great songs. Maybe discover an artist you've never heard. Maybe explore a genre you didn't know Christian music was doing.

At best? An encounter with God that leads you to the cross.

Part of my mission is to help people experience contemporary Christian music in a way they never have before. In a way they wouldn't expect. To meet them where they are, in the genres they love.

Love rock? I've got stuff for you.
Dig country music? I have artists you're going to love.
Hip hop your thing? I got you.
Even the club scene? Amazing dance and club mixes.

I'm like the set-up man. I meet you in the music you already love — and then God meets you there.

Because worship doesn't have one sound. And encounter doesn't require you to change your Spotify preferences.

The JDOT Five is an invitation: come for the music. Stay for the encounter.

What Makes The JDOT Five Different

It's Not Just a Playlist

Most Christian playlists are collections. Great songs, but no structure. No direction. You hit shuffle and hope something speaks to you.

The JDOT Five is different.

Every theme is built around an arc — a five-position journey that takes you somewhere specific with God.

  • Position 1: Where you start (the tension, the cry, the declaration)
  • Position 2: The foundation (theology, Scripture, the anchor)
  • Position 3: The journey (the shift, the wrestling, the transformation)
  • Position 4: The breakthrough (the testimony, the celebration)
  • Position 5: The response (worship, surrender, the "yes")

You don't just listen. You move. From one place to another. With Jesus.

The Five-Position Arc (How It Works)

Every JDOT Five theme follows the same structure — five songs, five positions, one arc.

Here's what that looks like:

Example: UNCHAINED ("A Slave No More")

Position 1 - The Declaration: "FREE!" (SEU Worship)
I will not be a slave to fear anymore. This is where freedom starts — declaring what's true before you feel it.

Position 2 - The Foundation: "Made A Way" (Temitope)
God didn't leave you enslaved. He made a way. This is the theology that anchors everything — the cross, the blood, the ransom paid.

Position 3 - The Journey: "Egypt" (Bethel/Cory Asbury)
Remember where you came from. Remember what enslaved you. And remember the God who brought you out.

Position 4 - The Invitation: "Chain Breaker" (Zach Williams)
If you're still carrying chains — shame, addiction, lies — Jesus is still breaking them. This is the moment you let Him.

Position 5 - The Celebration: "Thank God I'm Free" (Elevation Rhythm)
The journey lands here: gratitude. Not because the struggle is over, but because the chains don't define you anymore.

That's the arc. Not random songs. A journey. From declaration to freedom.

And every JDOT Five theme works the same way — intentional progression, rooted in Scripture, pointing to Jesus.

Who This Is For

The JDOT Five is for anyone who:

  • Wants to encounter God through music but needs more than just a good song
  • Loves worship but craves depth, theology, and Scripture alongside it
  • Leads a small group and needs content that doesn't require hours of prep
  • Feels stuck spiritually and needs a guided journey, not just inspiration
  • Loves contemporary Christian music but didn't know it could do this

It's for the person who thought worship was just one sound.
It's for the leader who's tired of piecing together curriculum.
It's for the skeptic who's willing to give five songs a chance.

At worst? Five great songs.
At best? An encounter with God that changes everything.

The Bigger Mission

The JDOT Five exists to point people to Jesus through music.

That's it. That's the mission.

Because I believe worship music does something a sermon or Bible study alone can't always do. It bypasses the intellect and goes straight to the soul. It cracks open the places we keep guarded. It lets God in.

But emotion without theology is just feeling. And feelings fade.

So The JDOT Five holds both: the emotional power of music and the anchoring weight of God's Word.

Music opens the door.
Scripture anchors the journey.
You leave transformed.
