The Author | Brandon Lake & Nick Jonas
After the tables get flipped — the pen gets handed over.
That's what Position 4 is. The natural next move after THE EXPOSURE. Because once God has gone underneath the performance and cleared the room — the question isn't whether you'll rebuild. It's whether you'll let Him write what comes next.
"My life is a story I struggle to write. But is it one worth telling? Is it one You like?"
That question — right there — is the sound of someone who has been trying to author their own story realizing the plot has gotten away from them.
The bridge is the most honest moment in the song: "I see trauma, I see worthless. You see something You can work with."
That's the gap between what you see in the wreckage and what He sees. You look at the cleared-out room — the flipped tables, the exposed motives, the surrendered applause — and you see destruction. He looks at the same room and sees raw material.
"Who am I to question the pen in the hands of the Author?"
Nobody. That's the answer. Nobody.
"I'm ink in the pen in the hands of the Author."
That's the surrender. Not passive. Not resigned. Just — finally, mercifully — accurate about who holds the pen and who doesn't.
