I KNOW SOMEBODY — homepage teaser

This week's journey

What would you say if someone you love sat down across from you, hurting — and you didn't have a single answer?

Most of us stay quiet in that moment, convinced we need answers, or our own lives together, before we're allowed to talk about Jesus.

This week's arc moves from tears that come before the words, through a call He answers every time, into being fully known and still wanted.

Not more answers. Somebody.

I KNOW SOMEBODY is available now. He knows your name.

This week's Five:

Every Tear — HERITVGE

POSITION 1 — THE CRY

Every Tear | HERITVGE

Every arc that ends with someone saying "I know Somebody" has to start where most people actually meet Him — not at their strongest, but at the bottom. "In the middle of a breakdown... so I'm falling at Your feet" is that starting point. Before anyone can tell someone else about Him, they have to let Him catch something. "Every tear that falls, You catch it all."

Call God — Elevation Worship

POSITION 2 — THE CALL

Call God | Elevation Worship

The Cry came before the words. This track supplies the first word, and it's just a name. "Every time I call Your name, You come running." Not every time you call well, or often, or soon enough. Every time. It takes apart the case most of us build for why He might take His time with us.

Hallelujah in the Hard Things — Bryan & Katie Torwalt

POSITION 3 — THE HALLELUJAH

Hallelujah in the Hard Things | Bryan & Katie Torwalt

He came running — and the mountain was still there. This song is honest about that in a way most worship songs aren't: "You did not promise there won't be pain or suffering." And then it praises anyway, from the valley, on its knees. Not pretending. Just knowing He's in it and still working. "What You started, I know You will finish it."

Come Meet the Man — Lily Hooten

POSITION 4 — THE KNOWN

Come Meet the Man | Lily Hooten

Even after the cry, the call, and the hallelujah, most of us still keep one part of ourselves hidden. This song is sung by the woman at the well — the one Jesus told everything she'd ever done, and didn't leave. "Come out of hiding, come show the Savior your face." She was fully known and still wanted, and she couldn't keep it to herself. That's the bridge to the finale.

I Know Somebody — Holly Brand

POSITION 5 — THE TELLING

I Know Somebody | Holly Brand

A person who's been caught, answered, met in the valley, and fully known doesn't need answers to help someone else — they need Somebody to point to. This track names the hardest moments people face and refuses to explain them: "There's no answer for it." Then it offers a Person instead: "a God who sees and knows your name." This is the song the whole theme takes its name from.
